Introducing: Agave
Located off the town square in the Gallery District of the Centro Histórico resides San Jose’s newest Tequila tasting experience. AGAVE is a tasting room and boutique for Mexican spirits located in Old Town San José del Cabo. It was founded by two tequila aficionados in 2019.
The founders are a sommelier and master tequilero from Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico’s largest tequila production region near Guadalajara and our very own fractional owner here at Esperanza, Terry Sullivan. In 2002 and at the first of many private tastings the pair naturally started to share their enthusiasm for Mexico’s elegant spirits, and AGAVE was born. Next time you find yourself at the Thursday night Art Walk stop in and Salud!
Whale Watching from the Shores of Esperanza
Whale watching season is in full effect in Los Cabos and Esperanza's location is often a whale watcher's delight without ever setting foot on a boat. Esperanza is located in the enclave known as Punta Ballena which translates to “Whales Point,” depicted at the Whale's tail fountain at the entrance. Whether you are enjoying a cocktail at the bar in Cocina del Mar, lunch at La Palapa restaurant or soaking up the sun from the infinity-edge pools, you are sure to see a performance by these lovely creatures. From around December to April each year, Humpback Whales and Gray Whales migrate down to the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean to mate and give birth. The whales start arriving as early as November and will depart for their summer feeding grounds by May. During this time sightings of the ocean’s greatest acrobats are guaranteed all around Los Cabos.
